WAHMS ? Tips for Time Management and Productivity

Being a WAHM is the dream of many Mothers. Being able to make a full-time income while raising and supporting children is the ideal situation. This way, there are no worries about finding Day Care, and you are always there when your children need you. However, being a WAHM isn’t easy–especially not at first.

Most WAHM’s start businesses online. These businesses can, over time, evolve into massive money makers on autopilot. This can sound too good to be true, and it is. Making an online business takes an incredible amount of work. An online business, like any other business, takes money and time in the beginning, and rarely generate money. Because of this, many potential WAHM’s get discouraged. At first, they readily devote hours to creating an online business, but after a few weeks to months of seeing no results or money, they give up. In reality, if they just kept at it a little longer, they would start seeing results.

Before starting an online business, you need to have a set schedule that you follow no matter what. Time management is extremely important in the early stages. Here are a few WAHM tips for Time Management and Productivity.

1.  Make Goals - Every successful business has a solid business plan behind it. If you sit down and make a list of goals, you can look to them when you are feeling discouraged. Promise yourself that you will see your online business through no matter what.

 2.  Be Prepared - As mentioned earlier, being a WAHM takes time. You need to be prepared to spend long hours a day working. Think of it as any other full time job. Since you won’t be making a ton of money at first, you need to have some money saved up as a cushion. Many people dive headfirst into an online business without thinking about the risks involved. This can only lead to disaster.

3.  Keep Priorities Straight - There are many different parts of running an online business. For example, if you do Internet Marketing, you need to generate content, get solid back links, and get traffic. Since working on one thing for a long time can get very repetitive and boring, some people take a scattered approach. They may write content for an hour, then skip to back links, then work on traffic, and repeat. This might keep you entertained for longer, but you get much less work done. Designate specific days to specific tasks, and keep your schedule.

 4.  Work Offline - One of the best productivity strategies for WAHM’sis to work offline whenever possible. This might seem odd, because you’re working on an online business. The thing is, many parts of an online business can be done offline. If you need to generate content for your website, use a word processing application. If you need to send emails, write them out before you get offline. The Internet is full of distractions, and the longer you work online, the more likely you are of becoming distracted.

These are just a few WAHMS tips for Time Management and Productivity. Starting an online business may seem daunting, but if you use these techniques, you will succeed. Always keep the end goal in mind, as it will motivate you to keep working. Online businesses take a lot of work at first, but after the ball gets rolling, it works on autopilot.
